Greetings once again fellow snow goose hunters!
The hunting staff here at HuntingSnows.com wishes you the very best in all your hunting endeavors! This site is dedicated to hunters and the needs of hunters. We are a site that is “Conceived by snow goose hunters, for snow goose hunters.” We invite you to share this site with us and hope you will spread the word to all your hunting companions.
We know how much work hunting white geese can be and how longs days get, between the summer decoy work weekends, equipment maintenance, trip planning, grocery purchasing, and the long drive to get wherever the birds may be that week. But somehow it doesn’t slow us down and after our short nights rest we rise out of bed to make use of the 3 hours we have until shooting time.
An elder friend once said to me as we watched a barley field fill up with geese at sunset on my first snow goose hunt:
“I know you are tired, hungry and you can hardly keep your eyes open, but this is snow goose hunting. It’s not for the weak, but for the strong. We hunt and scout while it’s light, prepare to hunt and scout while it’s dark. That’s all there is to it. There’s no time for fooling around. You never know when you get to eat, or how much sleep you’ll have. But you do know when you find a field like this you will get your limit before 10 AM even if you’re as bad a shot as me. Hunt while they’re here and sleep when they’re gone.”
We had a four man limit on the ground by 9:55 that next morning and we were all grinning from ear to ear. After hunting for four days with little success and lots of frustration we had done it! That’s when I fell in love with these pesky birds.
Throughout the years we have searched for ways to be more successful. Better and more decoys, better trucks, trailer, 4 wheelers, electronic callers, blinds, camouflage, and more. You name it! It’s out there or will be soon.
But all of that doesn’t make much of a difference if you don’t know the what, when, where, how, and why .
That’s why we are here. HuntingSnows.com is a place for hunters to pool their knowledge and help each other become better hunters. We will create a friendly environment for all hunters to talk about methods, products, and real time locations of snow geese. Every piece of information you need to be successful will be here at HuntingSnows.com. With everybody’s help you will be able to locate geese at any time of the year. The information will be easy to access and users will not have to weed thru pages of duck and Canadian posts. Everything from start to finish will be within reach of any hunter looking for a good experience. The staff is very excited!! We want everyone else to be excited too!
We are brand new. Our site is a bit plain right now but we invite you to watch us grow while helping others help you. We want your input and ideas for the site. Without user input we can’t achieve our goals of catering to all. Don’t be shy we want to hear from you.
Our field reports are currently listed by flyway instead of by state. Hopefully this will make the spring migration easier to keep track of. Our forums are open. Start new threads to find answers to your questions. If you are new to the sport say so. Most hunters will be more than happy to help get you on your way.
More benefits and information will soon come within your reach. Thank you for your support and comments.
Enjoy the spring conservation season.
Happy hunting to all!
